Aside from therapy, Lindsey has taught graduate and undergraduate students (non-clinical and clinical classes) at the University of Maryland and Marymount University. She also served as President at the Middle Atlantic Division of AAMFT, and is still currently on the board after more than a decade. At the National Cancer Institute, Clinical Genetics Branch, Lindsey conducted behavioral and psychosocial research in cancer genetics for eight years. She is a Clinical Fellow at the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and holds memberships for both the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR) and Collaborative Family Healthcare Association (CFHA).
